Dr. Amy Rupp Fuller
Owner
Dr. Rupp Fuller discovered her passion for veterinary medicine at an early age. In 1993, Dr. Rupp Fuller completed her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree at Kansas State University. She soon found herself practicing in several busy, well-regarded veterinary hospitals in the Chicago area. A move to Denver led her to open Urban Veterinary Care in January of 2003.
Dr. Rupp Fuller started working with animals and veterinarians when she was 15, and has been practicing professionally since 1993, including many years in the Chicago area. Prior to opening Urban Vet Care, she worked as a relief doctor in many veterinary hospitals in Denver.
She enjoys running Urban Vet Care and particularly loves having her own practice where she can implement her own high standards in veterinary care and service. She shares her home with her 2 children and her dogs, Birch and Gravy.
Dr. Shane Zambon
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Shane Zambon was born and raised in a suburb of Chicago and earned a B.A. in both psychology and anthropology from the University of Illinois. She then entered a Masterʼs program in anthropology at Southern Illinois University. After collecting data on primate tool use for her Masterʼs thesis, Dr. Zambon decided that veterinary medicine was more in line with her professional interests. She completed her DVM at Purdue University in 2006. After graduation, Dr. Zambon entered a one-year rotating internship at The Ohio State University. Once her internship was complete, Dr. Zambon moved to Denver to practice emergency medicine at a busy emergency and referral clinic. Dr. Zambon joined Urban Vet Care as a relief vet in the summer of 2014 and has been doing regular shifts with us since then. Dr. Zambon loves emergency medicine, but her other professional interests include:
Ophthalmology, cardiology, and internal medicine. She lives in Denver with her husband, two young boys, and four-legged friends (1 dog and 2 cats). When there is a free moment, Dr. Zambon enjoys hiking, practicing yoga, and snowboarding.
Dr. Amanda Stewart
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Stewart is originally from Millbrook, NY. She received her Bachelor of Science in Pre-Veterinary Medicine and Biological Sciences from the University of Delaware. She then completed her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University in 2020. After graduation, Dr. Stewart moved to Denver for a one-year intensive small animal rotating internship at Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital in surgery, internal medicine, emergency, and critical care. She has thoroughly enjoyed her time in Colorado and decided to join the Urban Vet Care team in September 2021!
Fun fact: growing up, Dr. Stewart raised and showed dairy goats with her local 4-H club. Her professional interests include cardiology, dentistry, and surgery. In her free time, Dr. Stewart enjoys gardening, fishing, and hiking with Curio, her Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
Dr. Justine Barone
Associate Veterinarian & Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist
Dr. Barone first connected with Urban Vet Care when she was preparing to start vet school after spending 8 years in the non-profit sector. More than 10 years later, she was thrilled to rejoin the Urban Vet Care team as an associate veterinarian.
Growing up in South Florida, Dr. Barone fell in love with animals of all stripes and sizes at a young age. Her family kept a small menagerie of pet birds, guinea pigs, and dogs, and she also relished the opportunity to observe Florida’s abundant wildlife in their natural habitat. She attended the University of Chicago, where she played on the Women’s Soccer Team, and worked with non-profit environmental and consumer protection organizations upon graduation.
Anxious to reconnect with her passion for animals, she enrolled in Colorado State University’s combined DVM/MBA program. Since graduating from veterinary school, she has worked in a small animal private practice. She has a special interest in chronic pain management and enjoys using acupuncture to improve the day-to-day comfort of her dog and cat patients. Dr. Barone finds it very rewarding to care for patients over all the stages of their life — from early puppy wellness appointments through geriatric care.
